All four machines will come with a varied mix of specifications based on your chosen configuration. Which can include up to an NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti for graphics, up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and up to 2TB of SSD storage in a single configuration or up to 4TB in a double configuration. Both the Aurora Ryzen Edition R14 and the m17 R5 can also come with AMD graphics cards options. Specifically, up to an RX 6900 XT in the Aurora R14 and either an RX 6700M or an RX 6850M XT in the m17 R5. On top of that, it features an advanced CPU liquid cooler with 2 independent and customizable lighting zones, which the company says provides a 42% improvement in thermal resistance over the standard liquid cooler. Alienware also states this is the first OEM desktop to market with AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processors. Meanwhile, the m15 R7 stays cooler than the past two iterations of the laptop thanks to fan blades that are both thinner and wider than in the m15 R5 and m15 R6.
Alienware’s AMD Ryzen machines launch today
If you’re wanting to get your hands on one of these new desktops or laptops, you can do so starting today. The Aurora Ryzen Edition R14 starts at a price of $2,949 depending on your hardware choices. Naturally, going with an RTX 3090, more storage, and more RAM will hike that price up. Meanwhile, the m15 R7 starts at a price of $1,499 and the m17 R5 starts at a price of $1,599. Lastly, Dell’s new G15 5525 starts at $899. And whether you’re looking for powerful desktop PC or something that’s more portable, any of these options will allow you to game. Keep in mind that the G15 5525 is geared more towards casual and beginner gamers who aren’t looking for top of the line specs that push the graphics limits. On a side note for availability, Alienware will also be releasing AMD Advantage Edition configurations of the m17 R5 later this Spring, but it hasn’t confirmed prices for those yet. All-in-all these appear to be some good improvements to Alienware’s long-running lineups of gaming PCs. Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R14
