In addition to these two new characters, the confirmed starting roster will include Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Luke, and Jamie. Capcom announced the new roster additions over the weekend during EVO 2022. A new trailer was also released showcasing some brief moments of Juri and Kimberly gameplay. Which you can view below.
Juri slides into Street Fighter 6 with an Akira reference
It’s nigh impossible to look in any direction without noticing something that’s been influenced by the hit anime film Akira. And perhaps one of the biggest showcases of that influence is the Akira bike slide. This single moment in the film has been used in a surprisingly large number of games. And now you can add Street Fighter 6 and Juri to that list. In the trailer above, you get a quick look at Juri’s combat style for the upcoming game after the iconic bike slide. Which to this day is still one of the coolest ways for any character to make an entrance. Outside of the new character reveals, Capcom has announced additional content being added to the game.
Additional real-time commentators are being added
When Street Fighter 6 was first announced, one of the more interesting game features was the real-time commentators. Initially there were two – Aru and Vicious. Today Capcom confirms it’s adding two more commentators for liven up every match moment. Tasty Steve and James Chen are being tossed in the mix. Tasty Steve will be the third play-by-play commentator alongside Aru and Vicious. Meanwhile, James Chen will be the first color commentator for the real-time feature.
