Fortnite players can now use gyroscopic controls on the PS4/PS5 and PC
Right now, there are a few primary ways to play shooters: mouse and keyboard, controllers, and gyroscopic controls. Each method has its own benefits and drawbacks. People using the Nintendo switch were able to use gyroscopic controls for Fortnite, but now that’s not the case. Epic Games has just implemented this for Fortnite on the PS4, the PS5, and PC. For the two consoles, it will be using the PlayStation controllers’ native gyroscopic capabilities. As for PCs, you will need to buy a controller that has the gyroscopic hardware.
You can also customize the controls
As ostensibly helpful gyroscopic controls are in Fortnite and other games, they can become annoying. This is why there are customization options available to fine-tune the experience. For starters, there are two separate modes (one for a building and one for combat) that will handle gyroscopic controls differently. This means that you can enable the controls for scoped weapons, and disable them when building. Also, there is a gyroscopic controls options menu. It gives you the ability to choose when gyroscopic controls activate, the sensitivity, acceleration, steadying, etc. This means that you’ll be able to activate it when it’s most necessary.

Fortnite is no longer available to download on the Google Play Store or Apple App store. Instead, Epic Games has the game on its own store, and on Nvidia’s GeForce Now service. However, if you really want to play Fortnite on your phone, there is an option; you can play it using GeForce Now on your phone. GeForce Now is Nvidia’s proprietary cloud gaming service. It will render a game in the cloud and stream it directly to your phone. This is no different from Stadia or Xbox cloud gaming. Now, you can play Fortnite on GeForce Now with touch controls enabled. This is great because you won’t need to have external hardware. In order to play games on GeForce Now, you will need a Bluetooth controller to connect to your phone. This is a huge slap to the face of Google and Apple, as people will be able to play Fortnite on their phones without going through either of their services.
