The Galaxy S23 series could let you record 8K videos at 30fps
Videos captured in higher frame rates offer more detail and smoother motion. If you have a fast-moving subject, the video will come out better. So Samsung offering a 25 percent faster frame rate for 8K videos on the Galaxy S23 phones makes them better camera tools. However, this is something most people will not even notice. Perhaps not many would care about it for one or more reasons. For one, 8K videos take up a lot of storage space on the phone, so users mostly record videos in lower resolution. Moreover, a smartphone display is too small to easily tell the difference between 4K and 8K videos. And 4K videos can already be recorded in 30fps and 60fps on the Galaxy S22 series. So 8K videos at 30fps may not be of much use to average users. That said, it could still be a big thing for professionals. YouTube content creators and other professionals in the videography field may find this change pretty useful. Smartphone cameras are improving fast and are replacing professional cameras. These kinds of upgrades could further fuel this change. It would be a cherry on the cake if Samsung also offered 4K videos at 120fps, at least on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. No Galaxy S22 model offers this video option. You can either capture [email protected] or [email protected] at max. Interestingly, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor that will power the Galaxy S23 series globally does support 4K videos at 120fps (and [email protected] too). So there’s some hope. If Samsung is planning it, the rumor mill should start talking about it soon. We will keep you posted. You can also expect to see more leaks and rumors about the Galaxy S23 series in the coming weeks. Samsung is reportedly planning to unveil the new flagships in early February next year. The phones are tipped to enter the production stage later this month.
