Before Razer ventured into the gaming headset scene, a brand named Turtle Beach was blazing the trail for better quality console gaming audio. The company’s first headset came out in 2005, a year before Razer released its Barracuda HP-1, which was a PC headset. Now Turtle Beach has lots of headsets on offer for both console and PC platforms. And quite a few of them are on sale right now with discounts that take as much as 50% off the regular price. One of its most popular headsets, the Recon 700 Gen 2 is down to just $34.95 from its regular price of $59.95. This is a wired headset that plugs directly into your console’s game controller. So there’s zero worry about having to recharge any internal batteries, and there should be zero worry about any audio latency due to interruptions with the wireless connection. Since there isn’t one. It also comes in three colors, Black, Midnight Blue, and White, and is compatible with Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile if your phone has a 3.5mm headphone port. But there are more headsets on sale than just this model. You can find the full list below.
Turtle Beach Recon 500 – $44.95 (reg. $79.95)Turtle Beach Recon 200 Gen 2 – $34.95 (reg. $59.95)Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 Max – $89.95 (reg. $129.95)Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max – $139.95 (reg. $199.99)
All of these headsets are multiplatform. But if you want something wireless and don’t mind spending a bit more, look to the Stealth 600 Gen 2 Max or the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max. Both of these are fairly similar right down to the design. There are differences though. For instance, the 700 model connects through a 2.4GHz lag-free dongle and through Bluetooth. Whereas the 600 has no Bluetooth capabilities. The 700 also has reinforced metal banding and more comfortable and plush ear cushions. Both however will offer great audio quality.
