Google Calendar is one of Google’s integrated services. It communicates with other Google services like the Assistant and Tasks to help you plan out your life. If you have a certain Google Workspace account, you’ll be able to collaborate with other people on group projects using the Calendar app.
Google Calendar will let you specify a building as your work location
Google’s services let you keep an eye on other group members if need be. These are just simple tools like letting you look at your members’ online status. However, if you’re working with a team that’s separated by different buildings, then it could be hard to keep track of everyone. This is where this new feature comes in. According to Tech Radar, Google will issue a new change to the Calendar app that will let you select a building and establish it as your work location. This way, you’ll be able to know where team members will be spending the majority of their time and where to find them should you need to meet up. Aside from letting you see the locations, Google will also suggest places to hold meetings. The company will use this as a way to help speed up productivity for teams. This will really help teams that exist on large multi-building campuses. If you’re interested in this feature, there are a few things you’ll need to know. Firstly, this is currently rolling out. You might need to wait a couple days to a couple weeks for it to reach you. Next, this feature will not be available to every Workspace account. When this feature comes out, it will be available for Business Standard, and Business Plus accounts. It will be for Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Fundamentals, Education Plus, and Nonprofits. Also, it will be available to legacy G Suite Business customers.
