The OPPO Find N2 to launch in 2022, but the company’s rollable may not
He revealed this via Weibo (a Chinese social media network). That’s not all he said, though. He mentioned the OPPO Find N2 phone, but also OPPO’s first vertically-folding smartphone. In other words, OPPO may announce its clamshell foldable this year as well. That clamshell smartphone will be a direct competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Huawei P50 Pocket, and Motorola’s upcoming Razr 3 handset. Let’s just hope that OPPO will make both of its foldables available globally. As a reminder, the original OPPO Find N, which we reviewed, only launched in China. OPPO never made it available with global software, which is a shame, considering that the hardware is excellent. Let’s hope that will change with the second-gen model.
A clamshell foldable is also coming
We don’t know much about the company’s clamshell foldable, though. That device has been rumored for quite some time, and it makes sense to arrive this year. We’re expecting more info to surface soon. Now, the rollable. OPPO actually announced its rollable concept smartphone, the OPPO X 2021, in December 2020. That was a concept device, and it was never available to purchase, but it was a functioning device. That made us excited for rollable smartphones, and we were hoping OPPO will deliver one in 2021. That did not happen, as it was expected to arrive in 2022. Well, it seems that may not happen either. The tipster said that OPPO improved the concept quite a bit, that goes for both the internals, and the display. However, the phone is not close to being launched to the market, it seems, unfortunately. We may have to wait until 2023.
