T-Mobile hits at Comcast for price hike
According to T-Mobile, this campaign is in response to Comcast raising Xfinity internet prices “again,” for the second time in a year. This is something the company highlighted on the billboard fitted on the truck, which made rounds of the Comcast headquarters for 25 hours straight. The company is urging “unhappy Xfinity customers” to break up with their internet provider and switch to it. The self-proclaimed un-carrier will cover up to $750 in early termination fees for anyone switching from Comcast to T-Mobile. T-Mobile is also currently offering a 50 percent discount on its 5G Home Internet service. Usually $50 per month, the service is now available at half the price for new users. You need to purchase a qualifying voice line too, though. But the deal is still almost too good to be true, considering that the carrier promises a price lock on 5G Home Internet. The monthly fee will remain the same as long as you are a customer. There are no hidden fees or equipment rentals either. “It’s clear Xfinity customers are tired of the BS. They’re hungry for a better option — and now they have one with T-Mobile 5G Internet,” said Mike Katz, T-Mobile’s President of Marketing, Innovation & Experience. The company alleges Comcast of “poor customer treatment” with repeated price hikes. Meanwhile, T-Mobile’s price lock policy is attracting more people from rival companies. More than half of its two million Home Internet customers reportedly switched from “Big Cable” providers like Comcast.
Comcast internet prices go up today
T-Mobile’s “Make Xfinity Your Ex” billboard campaign is in response to Comcast’s latest price hike which will be effective starting today. The company is increasing the rates of its TV and internet services by 3.8 percent on average. Its last like came in December 2021 when the prices were increased by three percent on average. T-Mobile is now trying to woo frustrated customers from Comcast, which is the largest cable and internet provider in the US. The un-carrier says it will not stop at just circling the Comcast headquarters. It plans to launch more such cheeky campaigns in the future. We will keep you updated.
