The TCL 30 XE 5G has a 1080p display at 90Hz
Right off the bat, we’re not dealing with any sort of premium or groundbreaking specs here. This is a modest phone with some neat aspects. It has a 6.52-inch 1080p+ LCD display that can run at 90HZ. While that sounds paltry, it’s powered by TCL’s NXTVISION technology for better visuals. Also, the display has a 180Hz touch sample rate. The TCL 30 XE 5G is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz. There’s 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and that should be enough for most light users out there. If it’s not, then this phone supports microSD card expansion up to 512GB. In terms of the camera package, there’s a triple camera package. This phone has a 13MP main camera which is accompanied by a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The main camera is good to record up to 1080p video at 30fps. Upfront, there’s an 8MP selfie camera. It seems like a camera package that will just get the job done. Rounding out the specs, TCL gave this phone a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 4,500mAh battery, mobile hotspot, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, Android 11 out of the box, and an 18W charger in the box. So, this is a pretty basic entry into the TCL 30 series of phones.
Pricing & Availability
The TCL 30 XE 5G is going to go on sale this Friday, February 25. And it’ll cost $199 at Metro by T-Mobile, or $198 at T-Mobile. While this phone isn’t in the premium smartphone market, it’s still a nice phone for those who don’t really want much from their phones. The 90Hz refresh rate should be a nice touch for people who aren’t used to more expensive displays. While we’re not sure when this phone will launch, it shouldn’t be too long of a wait.
