The Pixel 6a is the latest phone from Google. It’s the mid-range version of the popular Pixel 6. It brings the same Tensor chip that you find in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Along with that, the phone has a screen that’s slightly smaller than the Pixel 6 and it runs at 60Hz. This phone is shaping up to be one of the best phones of the year, but if you don’t plan on getting one of these phones, don’t worry. There are plenty of alternatives out there to the Pixel 6a.
The Pixel 6a is getting its first update
If you’re using the Pixel 6a, then you should know that this phone is on Android 12, and a pretty old version at that. This phone comes with the April security patch. That seems a bit archaic seeing as it’s almost August. However, these phones were probably packaged and waiting for shipping in April. But, Google is already in the process of delivering the phone’s christening update. There’s both good news and not-so-good news. The good news is that this update is coming to both the carrier-locked and unlocked variants of the phone. The not-so-good news is that this update is only the June update. It’s a month behind which isn’t a tragedy. However, the July update has already been delivered. If you pre-ordered the phone, then there’s a chance that you’ll have an update on day one. You’ll need to check your settings and see if there’s a new update waiting for you. If you already have the phone, you might have to wait a bit. The unit that Android Headlines is on AT&T, but it’s yet to get the update.
