As of today, players who signed up will be able to hop in beginning on January 18 if they’re selected. We aren’t quite sure when the servers will go live that day. But if you were accepted into the beta then keep an eye out for server availability. And for those that were a little sad when the Diablo Immortal beta ended in early January, this might serve to fill the void.
The Torchlight: Infinite closed beta will be available in the US
Closed beta testing typically happens in a small selection of regions, and things are no different here. It’ll be limited to players in the US, New Zealand, Canada, and Australia. There’s still time to sign up for the closed beta if you haven’t done so already, which you can do here. The good news is that this is only the first closed beta. And more are expected to pop up before the game’s official launch. Those worried that this might turn out to be a colossal disaster like the last Torchlight mobile game (which was actually called Torchlight Mobile), can rest assured that this plays a lot more like Torchlight 1, 2, and 3. It’s a proper ARPG with dungeon crawling, character progression, tons of loot and expanded ability lists. We’ve been spending the last few days with an early test build and find it quite fun.
The beta will have four playable heroes, and no cooldown timers
There will be a lot to experience in the closed beta that any Torchlight fan will love. For starters, the beta will feature four playable heroes with 24 talent trees. This will give the opportunity to select through over 180 skills to create your perfect hero. There is also no stamina system in place, which means you can play for hours on end if you want to. Additionally, players can access plenty of randomized dungeons with loads of loot. Another important thing that has been stressed by the development team is that there are no paywalls to experience all heroes, skills, items, and maps. That doesn’t mean there won’t be any micro transactions in this game. But from the sounds of things, players shouldn’t expect a pay-to-win experience.
