Elon Musk is buying Twitter, and Twitter’s co-founder supports him
As a reminder, Twitter and Elon Musk announced that the deal has been agreed for $44 billion. At first, Twitter rejected the offer, and even wanted to block the deal, but that didn’t really work out in the end. Elon Musk’s offer ended up being accepted. That being said, Jack Dorsey said that “Elon is the singular solution I trust”. He added that the company is on “the right path”, as Elon Musk and Parag Agrawal, the company’s CEO, are “getting the company out of an impossible situation”. “Twitter as a company has always been my sole issue and my biggest regret. It has been owned by Wall Street and the ad model. Taking it back from Wall Street is the correct first step”, added Jack Dorsey.
He believes Elon Musk is the right man to lead the company
Twitter’s co-founder and ex-CEO also added that in principle he doesn’t believe anyone should own Twitter. He believes that Twitter should be “a public good at a protocol level”. He added, however, that he believes Elon is the right man to lead the company, while he also said “I trust his mission to extend the light of consciousness”. Elon Musk’s Twitter acquisition should be closed by the end of this year. There were plenty of reactions to the news on Twitter, as many people opted to issue their opinion. Some are skeptical, others are happy this happened. There are also those that are not really sure what to think of all this. Only time will tell if this was the right call or not. Elon Musk is constantly repeating that free speech is important to him. It remains to be seen how will that impact Twitter. Elon Musk did say, recently, that Twitter has huge potential, and that he plans to “unlock it”.
