Twitter will be able to tell you if you’re shadowbanned
Musk tweeted out the news by saying that “Twitter is working on a software update that will show your true account status”. He says that you’ll clearly be able to tell if you’re shadowbanned, the reason why, and how can you appeal if you are. So, what does “shadowbanned” means? Well, it all depends on the platform you get shadowbanned on. For example, if you got shadowbanned in Call of Duty: Warzone, chances are you got thrown into lobbies with cheaters. What does it mean on Twitter, though? Well, we presume it means that your profile becomes harder to find, and the same goes for your posts. Shadowbanning is meant to exclude you, basically.
Instagram launched a similar feature recently
Instagram actually launched something similar quite recently. The platform lets you know if you’ve been blocked from recommendations. That tool will become more useful on Instagram, as additional, related features are coming. In any case, we don’t know when will Twitter roll out this feature exactly, but it’s coming. We’re sure that this feature will arrive with a proper explanation on how it works, and what exactly shadowbanning means on Twitter. It can really differ from one platform to the next. Elon Musk has been making changes to the platform left and right. He took over Twitter at the end of October, and has been all over the headlines since then, basically. He opted not to wait when changes are concerned, and made quite a few of them. Ranging from laying off quite a few employees, to introducing new features to the platform. Musk also said that more changes are coming, though, so brace yourselves.
