Now, do keep in mind that the report stated this applies to the Xiaomi 12 series, not just one phone. The camera information comes from Digital Chat Station, while the Snapdragon 898 SoC info surfaced earlier.
The Xiaomi 12 series may include three 50MP cameras on the back.
The tipster says that the Xiaomi 12 will sport a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera. It would be really interesting to know the sensors Xiaomi plans to use here. The Xiaomi 12 phones are expected to resemble the Xiaomi Civi design. We may get a metal and glass build, or a metal and ceramic build. In fact, both may be released, as the ceramic build may be reserved for the ‘Ultra’ model. Now, we don’t doubt that at least the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will feature an LTPO display. All Xiaomi 12 flagships are expected to offer 120Hz panels, though. Based on previous iterations of Xiaomi’s flagships, we may get two Xiaomi 12 units, the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Ultra.
The devices will likely launch in either December or January
These two phones are rumored to arrive in either December or January. While Xiaomi may announce the devices in December, they likely won’t become available straight away. Also, if they do get announced in December, that event will be for China, the global launch will likely happen later on. Xiaomi managed to grow a lot in 2021, and it doesn’t seem like it plans to stop. The company keeps on improving its smartphones, and it will be interesting to see what will it bring to the table with the Xiaomi 12 series. If you’re wondering why these phones won’t have the ‘Mi’ branding, Xiaomi decided to ditch it. All upcoming products will be released without it, for better or worse.
